OUR

MINISTRIES

Here at Hilltop, we offer a variety of ministries, and are always open to discussing new ways to minister to others. We are happy to meet the needs of our community when they arise. Below you'll find a listing of some of our more prominent ministries. If you need a ministry and do not see it listed, please contact us and we will be happy to see how we can help you, whether that be starting a ministry based on your needs, or sending you somewhere your particular need can be met.

Marriage Preparation

While you do not need to be a member to be wed at Hilltop, there are some things to know. While you don't have to be a member, you and your partner will have to meet a few times with the Reverend before your wedding commences.  No same-sex marriages shall be performed at Hilltop, even if all fees are paid. There are dressing accommodations for all members of the wedding party. If you would like use of the organ you must submit the request in writing to the Church Council, and then your organist must meet with our organist and receive approval. Guest Clergy must also have approval of the Rev. Randy Sweet. Rice is not permitted, if thrown additional charges may apply. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be permitted on church property. A $100, refundable deposit on a separate check must be paid for all non-members. The deposit will be returned after the premises is inspected and mailed within 7 days after the event. Non-member must also secure the permission of the Church Council.

21st Century Sunday School

In today's changing world, it is no misnomer that students do not learn in the same manner or style as yesteryear. So why do we still teach Sunday school like they did 100 years ago?

At Hilltop we have taken a giant step toward the future and hopefully into the hearts of students, with the love of Jesus.

We offer a unique array of classes using technology and fun combined. Classes in stop motion, Bloxel Game Builder, and Ozo Bots are just some of the exciting new ways we are welcoming the 21st century into our Sunday School!

Bread of Life: Food Pantry

Here at Hilltop giving is very important to us, and we strive to give back to those closest to home as often as we can. One of the ways we do that is with the Bread of Life our food pantry. In conjunction with other churches in the area, we strive to provide food and other necessities to those in need in our community. Occasionally farmers and other members of the community will donate fresh vegetables, and various other necessities. If you are in need or would like to see how you can help contact us.

Shoe box Missions

Here at Hilltop missions are a huge part of what we are about, but none are as important as our shoe box mission. In conjunction with Samaritan's Purse, we fill boxes jammed-packed full of goodies for children who are perhaps less fortunate. This is a great mission because it includes everyone from the smallest child to the oldest adult. By participating in this mission we can instill the joy of giving at a young age. We collect things year-round to fill our boxes. During the month of July we are collecting healthcare items; washcloths, bar soaps, toothbrushes, combs/hairbrushes, and barrettes/hair things.
Check back next month to find out what items we are still in need of! Contact us to become a part of this exciting ministry today!
Missions Teams

One of the things the Hilltop UMC family is really proud of and eager to continue to participate in is the sending out of missions teams. In the past we have sent missionaries to places such as Romania, Jamaica, and Uganda. We are always on the lookout for other places, both near and far, to lend a helping hand and lead others to God's never-ending love. For more information on giving to missions, or being a part of missions yourself please contact us!
